Yo, on the real..I think an artist named THE KID is one of the hottest Underground Hiphop artist He keeps it real to the true hiphop artform as far as lyrics and beats. To give you a good idea, His style is kinda reminiscent of the MID 90's hiphop era when cats like TRIBE, GANGSTARR, DE LA SOUL, BLACK SHEEP, etc. was blowing up the scene. He is one of the few cats in NOLA spittin' some underground shit. His album BRAIN ON RHYMES is definitley a fuckin' jewel for cats who want the "Straight Hiphop Manifested off the block".
