Hiya,

I'm sure some of you have come across it, especially europeans -

Loesje.org

It's an interesting site where they publish a monthly series of posters that they encourage people to put up in public everywhere - often short poetic lines that stick in your head, questions, analogies, jokes, always to do with current issues and our strange world, they're often very political.

I think they're good because they appeal to people who are not very interested in politics as well, theyre subtle questions and statements, some a bit cheesy! But most are good. ah i'll post some examples -

ARE HUMANS RIGHTS DEPENDING ON HUMAN WRONGS

LET'S HAVE A FAIR PLAY AWARDS IN POLITICS

I DON'T NEED A GARDEN I SHARE A PARK

YOU KNOW THAT THING YOU GET ON YOUR FACE WHEN YOU ARE HAPPY

COULD I ALSO PAY IN CULTURAL WEALTH

PALESTINE - THE NUMBER OF CASUALTIES ALMOST EQUALS THE NUMBER OF COUNTRIES THAT EXPRESS THEIR "CONCERN"

"IT IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD" THE GREENLY SAID TO THE ROSE

NATIONALISTIC PROBLEMS / LET'S GIVE EVERYBODY A COUNTRY OF HIS OWN / AND THEN MAKE A BIG UNION

AND WHEN EVERYBODY LOST THEIR PASSPORT / FOR PRACTICAL REASONS THEY DECIDED TO REMOVE THE BORDERS

"LONG LIVE CAPITALISM" YELTSIN YELLED AND CHANGED INTO A HAMBURGER

AND THEN THE UN PEACE KEEPING FORCES CONQUERED ANOTHER COUNTRY

PROBLEMS / MY RABBIT HAS BIG EARS AND A WARM HEART

ARE YOU ALSO ON THE LIST OF FUTILE OCCUPATIONS

WHO WANTS TO BE BOSSED AROUND WHEN YOU CAN MANAGE YOURSELF

These are just a few, you can join and suggest ideas yourself and at the end of each month (or 3, I can't remember) you can vote and 5 of them go through to be put up in the monthly series. Anyone who's travelled to the Netherlands has probably seen them, they're everywhere! They have around 1000 past posters up and they're easy to save - have a look!
