lets play the nostradamus game!

there will be no right-left spectrum anymore. we have all gathered inside a humanistic/technocratic-anarchist and environmentalist society based on spiritual and intellectual enlightenment, equality and freedom of using tools and technology (some would call that communism, i would call it humanism), and human- and earthly technological progress.. all atomic weapons are in the hands of the terra-defense cooperative ready to blast down asteroids and creepy aliens :p poverty and the all destruction we've caused in the third world is almost obliterated, because all the world in only one "state", thats not really a state, and emigration is totally free, both politically as economically, and nation-states do not exist anymore, but the regions have all found back to theire naturalistic pre-capitalist cultures for recreational purposes; that means f.ex norway will be viking themed, and the americas will be first nation themed in the inner cities that btw will diminish in size because, small settlements on the moon, will eventually become the primary settlement of humanity, and earth will be used mostly for vacation/travel, very green industry, science and work. the trip from the moon to earth will take about 30-45 minutes, with a shuttle.

i think it'll look shit and i'll do nothing but moan about the good old days when it was safe to go out in the street and everyone took their hats off when an old person walked past and said 'good evening sir how do you do', and if they didnt thet cud get a good beating from anyone in the street or by the nice copper who was a jolly decent fellow despite his flaming racism towards black people. i'll talk about when you could go a butcher, baker and candle stick maker down your local high street and cud then go to church and get home in time to watch the news before going to bed at 9 o'clock sharp before waking up to go school the next day cus u had to walk and if u were late u got beaten.

There will be something that makes all humanity apart from Revlefters die. The planets will be governed by a single emperor (we eventually got annoyed by the anarchists so after a couple of generations we returned to cyber-feudalism), Emperor Malte VI. On that hostile and barren planet Mars, the key to his authority is mined - a spice called melange. I couldn't watch what I am referencing because I fainted, but I was interested in the storyline. So the viceregal houses of family Mujer Libre and family Jazzratt are arch-rivals. Conflict, breeding programme, something about a boy that should have been a girl and the last of the Mujer Libre bloodline take the imperial throne

Though of course the only sewage that America dumps into York is tourists.

PS if you're an American who has visited York, I'm sorry. Although a few pointers for anyone coming:
1. It is not 'quaint' or adorable that 150 Jews were massacred in the Castle
2. Betty's is not typical either of the decor or the price of a tearoom
3. The city is not a photo opportunity
4. There are no surviving medieval artisans. If you are looking for an apothecary, go to Norwich (we haven't told them about the reformation yet)
5. If you as tourists, the real holders of power in the city of York campaign enough, it might become more like a museum and less like a museum giftshop

Dark corridors of Trantor (http://asimov.wikia.com/wiki/Trantor) bustle with traffic - while most of the passenger vehicles tend to travel closer to the surface, large cargo vehicles are usually restricted to the deeper tunnels during the day hours. These vehicles are automated and carry both fresh supplies delivered to Trantor from the nearby worlds as well as trash. Most of the trash is recycled on the planet. Non-recyclable trash is shipped into the space and injected into Trantor's sun.

It looks quite hostile. The city is clad with concrete borders, its waste goes into the village's water supply, and the farmers have primitive housing and means of production. So if you approve of this elitism and division, then I will not join in your dystopian future. Of course now you'll notice that the city has concrete walls and the village has pre-industrial tools, and also that they probably have to sell most of their produce to the city, and it definitely seems like a buyer's market, because where else can they sell.

That's because you don't drive in, you fly in.

its waste goes into the village's water supply,I take it you have not only missed the river of crystal clear water flowing through the village into the city moat, but also the fact that the village, as primitive as it is, could not possibly have been built by people violently ill with cholera and dysentery?

Either the city dwellers are considerate enough to clean their sewage before releasing it, or the stuff coming out of the pipes is not sewage at all, but storm drains or something along those lines.

and the farmers have primitive housing and means of production.Maybe that's how they want it.

So if you approve of this elitism and division, then I will not join in your dystopian future. Of course now you'll notice that the city has concrete walls and the village has pre-industrial tools, and also that they probably have to sell most of their produce to the city, and it definitely seems like a buyer's market, because where else can they sell.I reckon they only raise food in the village for themselves to eat and to barter with other villages. If the city has flying vehicles as can clearly be seen, they can easily grow their own food or have it imported from elsewhere.

"We shall abolish the orgasm. Our neurologists are at work upon it now. There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. There will be no laughter, except the laugh of triumph over a defeated enemy. There will be no art, no literature, no science. When we are omnipotent there will be no need of science. There will be no distinction between beauty and ugliness. There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always—do not forget this Winston—always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless."

Its spoken by the Party guy who is making him love big brother. It isn't about martyrs but rather that the future is in a continual system of totalitarianism. Personally, I think that Orwell's view was less accurate than Huxley's but that our future if we don't see real upheaval will be a sort of totalitarianism "with a human face." The abilities and methods of our modern capitalist states certainly put past totalitarian ones to shame.

I'm sure plenty of white people would get beaten. After all, one still has to root out the race traitors and other untermenschen, even if one has killed/deported all the darkies.

Besides, Britain under the BNP would look nothing like City 17 - Dr Breen's subjects still have electricity.

Also zombies.

life's better with zombies they never tell you how to do your job.

They only try to eat you.
If there are zombies, it must be Romero zombies, no Return Of The Living Dead or 28 Days Later zombies (not that I didnt like those movies, atleast the first two ROTLD were okay).

The communist dictator of the United States of America, Obama, will take your guns away, tax the rich, replace your bibles with Korans, declare the US part of Mexico and France, and surrender to the terrorists, right before growing out his Hitler stash.
