Award Thatcher with Your Discontent!
The University of Lodz (Poland) awarded Margaret Thatcher with honoris causa title on 20th May 2009. The proposal came from the Department of Economics and was accepted by the University Council and the headmaster.
Despite protests from a few local socialistic and anarchistic organisations, the University remains silent about any opposition in press, and keeps glorifying Thatcher for her marvellous economy success. The ceremony is to be carried out through an online conference due to Thatcher's health disorders. It will take place on 22nd June parallely in Lodz and London.
Since the University has never cared about protests from Polish NGOs, we call for British organisations to send their letters of protest to:
[email protected] (
[email protected]) - press spokesman
[email protected] - prof. Zofia Wysokinska - economist, who proposed Thatcher for the award. We also call for protest during the ceremony in June.

Good grief! No!
This is almost as bad as those ideas of giving her a state funeral! What on earth are they thinking? I mean, she's shut off the coal mining industry. Privatised the rail network, which are striking this week because conditions are still so bad for workers and fares rose 5 times over the intrest rate this year. She's an economical disaster!

It was her pernicious doctrine that the poles embraced after the collapse of the Soviet Union and fucked them right up.

Don't forget the privatization of council housing which has lead to dire consequences in recent years.

What do you expect? In America they honor that idiot Regan like he is some sort of God. The bourgeois are just doing the same with his partner in crime across the pond.

Oh yes, the holy Reagan. Praise Reagan! He was a horrible president, just like how Thatcher was a horrible Prime Minister. She deserves nothing, plain and simple. Their careers are sugarcoated beyond belief by the bourgeois.

Speaking of Reagan, they have a statue of him in Warsaw. In effect, the Polish bourgeoisie decided to honor not only the man who helped destroy the U.S. with his de-regulation and privatization campaigns, but now they do the same for the woman who helped destroy the U.K. with her de-regulation and privatization campaigns.
Wonder where Lech Walesa fits in all of this...

I think she's afraid of her own shadow like any of these rich fucks would be when you disgruntle millions of people and you need an army of security detail or security protocols to cover your back. Just ask George W. Bush.

Actualy, she was shuffled out and paraded in front of some Tories for the first time in a long while quite recently. Believe me, she's got health disorders. As much as I despised her in power, she's no longer the "Iron Lady". She looked confused and frail and seemed to look like somebody with moderatly serious Altzeimers. By now she's probably a vegtable and has little idea of what day it is, let alone to consider security threats. I'm not defending her here, but I think the reason could well be a valid one. They dont want to see thier precious "heroine" as a stumbling geriatric, but rather want to try attempt to preserve the image of the "Iron Lady" that they have come to love and we have come to loathe.
From wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#Health_concerns
Thatcher suffered several small strokes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroke) in 2002 and she was advised by her doctors not to engage in any more public speaking.[153] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-152) As a result of the strokes, her short term memory began to falter.[154] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-ill08-153) Her former press spokesman Sir Bernard Ingham (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Ingham) said in early 2007, "She's now got no short-term memory left, which is absolutely tragic."[155] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-154)
Thatcher was admitted to St Thomas' Hospital (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Thomas%27_Hospital), Central London on 7 March 2008, for tests after collapsing at a House of Lords (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Lords) dinner.[154] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-ill08-153) She was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she spent one night.[154] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-ill08-153) The incident was probably caused by her low blood pressure and stuffy conditions within the dining hall.[154] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-ill08-153)[156] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-155)
On 24 August 2008 it was publicly disclosed that Thatcher has been suffering from dementia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dementia). Her daughter Carol described in her 2008 memoir, A Swim-on Part in the Goldfish Bowl (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=A_Swim-on_Part_in_the_Goldfish_Bowl&action=edit&redlink=1), first observing in 2000 that Thatcher was becoming forgetful.[157] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-dem-cbs-156) The condition later became more noticeable; at times, Thatcher thought that her husband Denis, who died in 2003, was still living.[158] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-157) Carol Thatcher recalls that her mother's memories of the time she spent as Prime Minister from 1979 to 1990 remain among her sharpest.[157] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Thatcher#cite_note-dem-cbs-156)

I dont get it. Her policies have pretty much failed us havent they? I though it was her ideals that pretty much lead to the global financial catasrophy. All she succeded in was giving buisness owners the opportunity to experience unfetered deregulation, which obviously favoured them immensly. As an actual ideology, it thus didnt even last as long as soviet communism. Thatcherism = 25years?, Soviet Union = 70years.
Also, i work with a lot of polish and slovakians and apart from the weather during the summer, they dont have much good to say about their countries.

David Duke I think has a honorary chair at the Kiev University. Do not care about eastern European honorary chairs. These countries are run by reactionaries.

Chris Pattern is my uni's vice chacellor, its not just (as you seem to see them) "backwards" countries that have reactionaries as their bourgeois, its all of them.
