Do any of you guys know how to get rid of the horrible flashing advertisements which appear on the bottom of my Kazaa? "Casino - Play with Real money Now!" Fuckers.

I've seen someone somewhere before telling which file should be deleted for the spyware crap, but what about the floating ads attached to the software machine?

Yeah, I had that before and then I decided to "update", rather than deal constantly with their asking me to. I don't feel like downloading it again, I'd rather get rid of tyhe bullshit ads.

They're big and flashy, and trying to get me to spend money. I don't like them. I also think they slow down the downloads, I used to download songs at about 3.15 KBs/sec now it's more like 2.5.....that's fucking unacceptable.

I have noticed that my downloads are slower now but not as slow as yours at about 4kb/s when I used to get about 5kb/s. I searched around to see if I could figure out how to get rid of the ads but no luck.

It's not just the ads that got me to switch to Kazaa light, the company steals your bandiwdth. Yes, you heard me correctly IT USES YOUR BANDWIDTH FOR THEIR OWN ENDS. Plus, I'm against spyware in any way shape or form regardless.

Kazaa doesnt steal your bandwidth... it runs an "undernet" on your computer, whiich isnt actually running, but it develops itself ... which means that when kazzaa want to turn it on... they can run a whole new internet, for whatever they want to do with it, using your computer and your connection, but you wont know about it.

Apparently they HAVE been approached about this by some compny or otehr wanting to stop it, and they made excuses and stuff.

The reason people are worried is because ho dont know what they are doing while using your computer... it could be used for illegal reasons (which seems most likely to everyone else... as it is kept a secret by kazzaa [pretty crap secret, since someone like me knows lol])

But yea my dads work researched it and stuff, so that is why i know all this cos some computer boff told me,

Anyway... the kazza light FROM SOME SIGHTS doesnt have it... even though it is spyware free, some sights add this stuff which gets the "undernet" developed... cos they dont count it as spyware or some crap like that.

So watch where you get it from, and dont do updates.

That wasn't a rant. Anyway, I uninstalled the poxy upgrade, and downloaded Kazaalite. Now i'm downloading a nice song by Vin Gordon, the Trombonist. :biggrin:

Beautiful reggae music. He was also known as Don D. Junior, after Don Drummond (you know him, right? :wink:).
Anyway he recorded an instrumental album with Lee Perry back in 1975, it was called Musical Bones. I've gotten two of the songs off it, both of which are class. Typical Scratch experimental stuff; tight, tight, tight riddims, and a perfect amount of delay and reverb.

um i suggest you just all screw kazaa, as there are many file sharers that don't put spyware into your computer. I use WinMX which u can get from www.winmx.com which is good and doesn't put spyware into your computer. My highest speed on it is 40k/s, i regularly d/l songs in about 5 mins.

and if anyone complains about speed....... you have no idea. mine ranges in between 1.00 and 2.00, lucky if i could reach 3.00 and not uncommon if it falls below 1.00 for a majority of the download. dial up is the worst thing in the world.

DON'T DOWNLOAD KAZAA. Download WinMX, it is much better and you can get an average of 10k/s sometimes. As I have said the highest I have reached is 40 k/s.

If you're using a 56k the highest speed you'll get is 5.2kbps which I sometimes get with both KaZaa and WinMX. As for WinMX being better, that's bullshit, KaZaa has much better search options and is more user friendly than WinMX.
