The new album "48 Hours Towards A Better World" from Sun Rise Above is now available for free download at http://www.sunriseabove.net (http://www.sunriseabove.net/)

Reviews are already coming in: "One of THE most important rappers of this decade, Sun Rise Above has released the tracks from his latest album '48 Hours Towards A Better World' for free download. The album shows once again his talent & commitment to his music & beliefs. Written & recorded in a 48 hour period the tracks range from laid back rhymes & rhythms to full barrage attacks on the powers that be, those responsible for the current state of the world and the systems that perpetuate it.

"He touches on many subjects including the conditions and lives of the working people of the world, treatment of women, war, racism, everyday life and his words are both inspirational & a celebration of resistance. Unlike many artists of different genres who, though their hearts may be in the right place, simply keep re-stating the problems of the world without offering any beginning of a way forward, Sun Rise Above talks of TRUE resistance, change & of different ways to start moving.

"It is rare to find truly talented individuals like Sun Rise Above who have the talent to travel the path of success if they chose to dumb down their lyrics and write about the inane & repetitive Top 40 Chart topics but who choose to stand strong & tell the truth about the world. As an activist, unionist, musician, socialist & advocate of social justice, I am always inspired to find those among us who choose to use their talents to change the world for the better and not just to line their own pockets and knowing as I do that this path has not been an easy one for him makes me all that more appreciative of that work."

The album is hosted by DJ Grafitti. Production is handled by X3M, 7Wounds and Sun Rise Above.

The title reflects the fact that the entire album was written and recorded in a period of 48 hours.

If you like what you hear, spread the world - and the tracks.

Who are these reviews by? No offense to his music, but I have a hard time anyone believing that he's one of "the most important rappers of this decade" considering that most of the hip-hop world has probably never even heard of him.

I'm not his publicist, so I didnt write it, but I can say, he's one of the few communist voices in rap. Whom ever wrote it may be coming from that perspective.

Why'd you post it if you don't know who wrote it?

Because it's good music

Probably the best album he's released. The only thing's I don't like about are technical and I think they would easily be solved in a high-end studio. But...

I just got an idea too! Sun Rise Above should release the vocals and instrumentations to a song and have a public remix contest. *Hopefully*

Because it's good musicI was pretty obviously referring to the "review".

That video's pretty emo/tacky, too.

Why'd you post it if you don't know who wrote it? Why do you ask such dumb questions? It was a press release, the same as are submitted by journalists to news sources. Do you personally know reporters that write the news articles you post? Wait dont answer that, I'm not going to allow this thread to be hijacked.

Aye, but most press releases accredit which magazine/resource reviewed it positively.

Well his next video will feature light-skinned black models shaking their asses. Happy?

Usually if there is a review in a press release there will be a citation of who said it.

Meh, better than watching someone walk around looking depressed or whatever he was going for.

I don't think he looks depressed. He looks more like he is dreaming imo.

Many communists have that look, I think it's quite attractive. I also think the song is really good, one of his best so far.

Good song. The video goes well with it: the urban spaces, the use of black-and-white, the snow.
