I was listening to a song by Manic Street Preachers, Freedom of speech won't feed my children (isn't that a quotation from some woman?), and I was thinking of writing some pragmatist poetry. Here are two lines I've thought of already, hope you guys can help out.

Liberty, sweet liberty
Dictatorship or Democracy

Only the government can guarantee

Dictatorship or Democracy
What are the rights you have given me?
Can I vote, can I speak, can I See?
Can I see the lines you draw in the sand?
Which path leads to the promised land?

Dictators, you tell me what to say think and do
Democracy in America you are controlled by doo-doo
Is it Democracy or Dictatorship I see in this land?
What is your goal? Money, greed, power, or man?
Let me see beyond the labels you so often send
To see a world, a land, a people that we can all mend

Liberty, sweet liberty
Only the government can guarantee
Or is a utopia
An idea that we can all plainly see
Will it take the government to give me my rights?
Or will self-determination and brotherhood put me to sleep at night?
