Any other fans here? I found a great site a while ago that has a bunch of albums from Chile, really good stuff.

Nueva Cancion albums (londres92.blogspot.com)

Here's some clips for people that aren't familiar with it. It has it's roots in the Chilean communist/socialist movement that developed in the 60s, but unfortunately went underground after Allende as deposed in 1973.

This is Victor Jara, the most famous singer of Nueva Cancion, he was tortured and killed by the Chilean military after the coup.

This is a guy named Pedro Saavedra, he does a lot of great covers of Nueva Cancion.

This is Violeta Parra, another one of the most famous Nueva Cancion singers.

This is Quilapayun, should sound familiar to some of you!

Hope you enjoy!!

I wish there my generation could make songs like these, but with a modern twist to it. Nueva Cancion used to be popular all over latin america, but now its shit like reggaeton with its glam and sexist bull shit taking over.

Sure wish most of my favorite artists like Victor Jara and Ali Primera were still alive to inspire us, too bad miliatary dictatorships killed em.:(
