i went to the record store yesterday and bought five new albums that i've been waiting for 4 a goddamn long time. I thought i would give my personal critique for you who were thinking about getting them.

The Roots- phrenology. Possibly the best hip-hop album of all time. The roots fucking lay it down. stop reading this and go get this album, its amazing! The only thing it leaves to be desired is the absence of Malik B (drug prob?) which is a big minus for all you roots fans, although there is lot and lots of guests to make up for the one MC on the mic.

Talib- Quality. This is good shit. I didn't like it nearly as much as the roots, though. I thought it was too soft, not raw like i'm used to hear from him. There are some good tracks, but i didn't think it did that well as an album. go get this one too, but get the roots first.

Audioslave- I've only listened to this through once, i don't know if that gives you a good indication, either i haven't listened to it enough or i don't want to listen to it twice. I can't stand Cornel's singing on this album. his other stuff i liked but not this. its just not even close without zach. listening to this album is like seeing your old girfriend with another guy- shitty.

System of a Down- Steal this Album! they seem to pick up somewhere near where rage left off. lots of politics, some Chomsky quotes, anger, and good music. I liked their last album and i think this one does it justice. Good Shit.

Peter Tosh- Stepping razor- Red X. this was the fifth thing that i got and it's neither new nor a CD. its a DVD biography based on tapes that he recorded in the last four years of his life. He has been called music's Malcolm X, but i didn't really see that. I liked the video, it gets kind of slow some times but it is really interesting. go rent this and buy a sack from your local street pharmacy for an interesting night.

That's all i got to say, for those of you who have those albums, what do you think? I think they will all be eclipsed by the new Dead Prez, i cannot fucking wait!

Yeah, man. Rapid buzz. I'm getting this for christmas.

Weren't there some of his speeches on the video? Didn't you think they were Malcolm Xesque-ish? I posted one of his speeches in chit chat, and some of his other ones are available out there on the internet somewhere.

Here is some analysis of the film:

....ah, here's a shit load of other links:

Yeah, some of them can get quite heavy, but that's a good thing I think. Read them all or suffer the consequences.
There's so much stuff on that site, I think I'm gonna be sick.
