The aspect of this forum (as well as the learning forum, and the theory forum and probably most of the site) that is most lacking, i.e. critical and intelligent debate, rests primarily on people claiming no sources for the 'arguments' they hold. Instead, people rely on unsubstantiated claims, rhetoric, sheer prejudice and repetition in the hope of forming an argument. Whether it is an anarchist likening Lenin to Hitler, or a Marxist-Leninist likening Lenin to Marx, both require more than the mere word of the writer. People should provide a reasoned argument, linked to historical accounts or facts which are again linked to sources of which other readers can assess the veracity of. And sorry, but whilst wikipedia can sometimes provide a useful broad outline it doesn't cut it as a reliable source, which is why you would be laughed at if you tried to reference it in a history paper (or any other academic paper). Some claim that this forum focuses too much on Soviet history. This is probably true. But it is also true that it is approached in a totally shallow manner, and ignores the depth of the areas of its history. Small wonder why debates are repeated ad nauseum if the standard of debate is anything goes.

So, with this in mind I thought of creating a 'Marxist bibliography' which is somewhat misleading since it has to do with not just the theories of Marxism, but the historical movements behind those ideas. If anarchists want to create a bibliography of anarchism by all means do so. If you are as sick of Marxists labelling you petty-bourgeoisie, as I am of anarchists likening Marxists to fascists, then here is your opportunity to rectify that. These sources, of course, are biased from my own view and necessarily limited. There is no consistent means of form of citation used.

A great topic my friend, I have many of those in my library at home. I do also find that some people (mainly new members) do not fully understand the history of Marxism or communism and rely on superflous arguements.

Some literature you may want to consider for the "Bibliography of Lenin" and the "Bibliography of Cuba" respectively;

"Economics And Politics In The Era Of The Dictatorship Of The Proletariat (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1919/oct/30.htm)" - Vladimir Lenin (1919)
"The State and Revolution (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1917/staterev/)" - Vladimir Lenin (1917)
"What is to be Done (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1901/witbd/)?" - Vladimir Lenin (1901-02)
"The Foundations of Leninism (http://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/stalin/works/1924/foundations-leninism/index.htm)" - Joesph Stalin (1953)

"When The People Rule (http://www.marxists.org/history/cuba/archive/castro/1959/01/21.htm)" - Fidel Castro (1959)

Why is Bohm-Bawerk in there? He wasn't an "Austro-Marxist," he was an early founder of the "Austrian School," which is as pro-capitalist and anti-Marxist as it gets. He is referenced by them, ad nauseum, as having supposedly refuted the LTV.

It's fine for the MIA to host his work as contextual material, but I don't see what place it has here, unless I misunderstand the purpose of this list.

If you want a ready-made bibliography on 'Dialectics', I drew one up a few months ago for Random Precision. It's now posted here:

http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=1172

However, if you do use it, please point out that much of the material in these books and articles has been taken apart here:
