Just to see if there are any SOIA fans here. And if you haven't heard them, your really missing out. Brutal NYHC with some softer intermissions and sounds and not only is it political but they also have shit that you could really relate too (I amazingly relate to "Souvenier"). Anyhow, their fuckin brilliant.
EDIT: That stupid smily appears every time I put a parentheses after a quotation mark.

Sick of it All aren't bad, I recommend you listen to some non-NYC hardcore though. The Dillinger Escape Plan, Refused, Blindside, Snapcase, SikTh, Will Haven, Hopesfall, Poison the Well etc etc.
I do like some NYC stuff. Converge fuckin rule and Hatebreed have their moments...

I've seen Poison the Well live. They weren't that great. Soulfly kicks them all in nuts and runs away laughing.

I listen to about half the bands you mentioned, actually. The NY scene just tends to attract me more because it has legends such as Agnostic Front and the Misfits as well as cutting-edge new bands like Death Before Dishonor and Denied (I think Hatebreed are from CT though).
btw: My friend's band opened up for Poison The Well at their Anaheim gig last year so I got in for free. Good shit indeed.

SICK OF IT ALL RULEZ!!! It is deffintly the best (NY)HC band there is, Í've got only 2 cd's of them scratch the surface and call to arms. What is the best SOIA cd by the way. Sick of it all is ever better than Agnostic Front.

My personal favourite is "Call To Arms" and I also Own "Yours Truly". Ive heard some clips off of their first album "Blood Sweat & No Tears" and its pretty wicked.

Refused, Snapcase, Blindside & Poison The Well. And Ive heard some Will Haven and its not bad. BTW: You are a huge No Innocent Victim fan and you don't know it yet. You really should check them out.
Anyhow, Soulfly is a bit too nu-metalish for my taste. I have "Primitive" and some tracks aren't bad but there are those that sound like their becoming the next Limp Bizkit. And all metalheads and hc fans hate LB as a rule.

Bah, they only sound 'nu-metal' when they have guests on the c.d. singing. And they don't have that many on '3' so they're doing fine. Listen to '3', their new album, you won't say they sound like Limp Bizkit afterwards. I'll admit, they aren't really as "hardcore" as those others, I was just fucking around 'cause I don't really like those bands.

Excellent...Snapcase are playing in London on Sunday, but I'm saving up to see Glassjaw next month so I can't afford it. I'll check out NIV then... :)
