The US President is expected to announce that trials will restart in Guantanamo. Is this the right decision?

How do the voters that voted for him justify this?

This uturn was presdicted by the likes of Alex Jones , who claims he is backed by
infobomber.org/2008/10/22/big-bad-barak-obamas-banking-bilderberg-backers
Zbigniew Brzezinski (I had to look how to spell that name) some of you might not think too much of Jones, some have claimed he is a CIA misinformation agent as is David Icke for MI5.
this thread has made me consider the similarities between Obama and Ganley.
They are both backed by US big money corporations and thats how Obama was elected, because the huge financial support he had - from the rtwing corporations , not from millions of small individuals.
The same thing seems to be happening in Europe with Ganley and his big money backers.
I thought Obama was the last hope for humanity but now the hope seems to be fading!
Why Ganley and his big money backers are backing a NO vote is curious, but I thought - what if Ganley conveniently changes his opinion of the EU elites if he gets elected and then supports a much more rtwing takeover in the EU.
Im uneasy about Obama as I am about Declan Ganley.

A prof of mine made an interesting point to me recently. If we assume Obama is a decent person, he will try to do the right thing. Once in office, his ideals will be a limitation. If he doesn't promote security, and something bad happens, people will blame him. After that, someone much worse will be elected. So essentially, he will just try to sacrifice his ideals as little as possible.
Also, voting doesn't really give you much responsibility for the outcome. One vote does virtually nothing. You could vote for ten bucks and that's probably a legitimate moral justification for voting.

Obama of course he's true nature is to protect the interest of America not the interest justice and order.

saying that - so we all knew Obama was sure to serve the rtwing elites agenda, however at this point in time, this is naive and a mistake!
If the public and democracy are betrayed by the status quo - the upper classes, then the proletariat have no effective leaders and are headless, because the leftwing are ineffective and without any power whatsoever!
Che and Fidel Castro, Trotsky and Lenin came to power with certain factors in their favour - first not least - they had the inpenetrable hinterlands of tropical forests and the hugeness of the Russian Steppes and its severe winter to hide them. The leftwing and socialists in the "west" have no hinterland to fight a resistance war - those who oppose the rtwing elitists in the west are sitting ducks - unless we awaken from the slumber of the foolish!
A fascist NWO is in the making - it is imminent - this is not a time to sit on hands and and do nothing!
The US has been a one party state probably since its formation but the McCarthy trials confirmed that and theres no real leftwing groups in US politics - the Mafia - the CIAs stooge and odd-job men - tidy up where necessary!
I realise that most forums in the "west" are infiltrated by the rtwing status quo as I have discovered on Indymedia.ie and I read about Boards.ie
heres hoping this one isnt "controlled" also!
So I hope this post isnt deleted!

reply to okeefjmc, I see you reside in Louisiana, not exactly a socialist state Huh?
Theres no left wing in the states , theyre crap scared to speakout, ever since the McCarthy trials, not a peep! The US is a one party state with both Republican and Democrats serving their (same) corporate bosses! I think Okeef is just playing games with leftwing politics! I dont believe you can even envisage what socialism or social democracy entails! First of all you have to have the nerve and backbone to speakout in local society not just blog away on the net where its safe and no repercussions for yourself!
Theres another alternative to explain your negativity, I have been on many forums and I know for a fact that all if not most are infiltrated by agents of the state or their minions for the purpose to ridicule all claims of state "conspiracy theories"!
Im in my 60s and Ive been around and one thing Im sure of , things are gona get worse soon!
Lets see how many real lefties are left when the serious times come!

Well, if it is shown how many of the defendants who really are innocent, then the army will be hurt. If the army is hurt, then the US empire is hurt. So it is sorta the right decision, for the US empire, in its interests.

I think we will see many more U-turns along the way. Some pragmatic and some for reasons that we will never know. Change Change Change they said. Look what they got.

Moreover the Democrats have blocked funding to close Gitmo down. (http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/20090519_democrats_block_funds_to_close_gitmo/)
Who needs the GOP when you got the Dems?
