i was astounded to read this. apparently, Wilson was under the impression that there was a plot by the security services to have him overthrown in a coup under the allegation that he was a KGB spy. does anybody have any further info?

My history lecturer briefly went over this. Wilson had always been paranoid that MI5 had a file on him and had him under constant surveillance which everyone at the time believed was just pure nonsense but recently disclosed information proves that in fact the MI5 did actually have a file for Wilson as they felt that they couldn't trust him.

Well, the national archives, where these old files are kept (assuming they have survived) doesn't seem to have anything on Wilson in its Secret Service material. But that doesn't necessarily mean a lot.
