And what the fuck is with Oakland picking Heyward-Bey with the 7 spot in the draft?

Michael Crabtree was available. Jeremy MacLin But even more than that, if you really want Heyward-Bey then You Trade Down and Get More Picks!!! It's like dealing with fucking amateurs.

Second Round...and they pick who? The 73rd ranked safety in the draft? Not the 73rd highest rated player, the 73rd highest rated safety. Once again, that pick is too valuable, even in trade alone. They could have picked him up in fucking free agency!!!

Goddamn what the fuck were they thinking? Al Davis needs to stop drafting players like it's 1975. The game has changed, Al. Let's get up to date, eh?

Ok, I am going to give myself an out and say that Heyward-Bey does run a 4.3 second 40 so he could be a deep threat. And the Raiders are in some definite need of stretching the field vertically. If he can get just a couple of those, so teams have to respect him, that'll open up the running game for McFaddon to go the distance.

Your pretty much asking us to slag off your shitty sport. Make your own general discussion thread!

Are you a Raiders fan Cult? I like Darrius Heyward-Bey a lot and I think he can be a better player than Crabtree. Remember Crabtree had that knee injury and didn't run at the combine so there is still a little uncertainty over him. Mitchell the safety they picked up in the second round would have been taken a few picks later by the Bears had they not picked him.

It's all about my iggles' draft though. Maclin at 19 was an absolute steal and with the next two picks Lesean McCoy and Cornelius Ingram give us a complete offence. We should really have a great chance of winning the division this year.

He was the fastest in the draft and will be one of the fastest in the NFL from right off the bat.

The question is, does he have hands of rock? But I know what you mean, if he can get into the open field it'll be lights out baby  I don't even know what Mitchell looks like, though I heard the same thing. I'm going to wait and see.

And yeah I understand what you mean about Crabtree. One other thing I would add is that he went to Texas Tech, and they run a spread offense that definitely inflates his numbers. Plus, nobody in theh NFL runs an offense with so many gimme-routes as they do there.

I'm feeling it too. Russel showed flashes of brillaince down the stretch last year, and it seemed like things were starting to come together. Plus, Denver has Kyle Orton at QB

To be honest, though, I'd feel great if Oakland just got competitive again against the AFC West. The ass-whooping in Week 1 last year was painful to watch.

This is the general football discussion, in case you didn't notice. Why get offended? And no need to call it shitty. Why get personal?

It's your sport that's 90 minutes of men running around in circles. And never mind that if they bump into another player they're going to get ejected. The fucking fans hit each other harder than the players do. The whole level of engagement is kicking a fucking ball. Back and forth. back and forth.

Bor-ring. The only thing worse is the fact that 90% of threads in this sections are devoted to ball kicking exercise, and yet you get offended when 1 thread is contaminated with some material regarding an exciting sport.

Not that I've ever been to a professional 'football' game mind you. In fact, doesn't even really exist over here in any meaningful way. And they won't sell you beer at MLS games so I'm never going to go. But I could see how it might be exciting, in the right environment.
