I'm absolutely sure it was! Am I the only one who noticed that everytime the US forces or the Israelis kill civilians it is always mentioned that they assumed a Taliban/Hamas/Al-Qaeda leader/headquarter/hideout there? But surprise surprise, almost never they find what they assumed, it always turn out that there was just a kindergarten or a hospital. Well, bad luck I guess...

Almost seems like "free fire zones" and the "search and destroy" of Vietnam is alive and well in Afghanistan. It's like if an imperialist army can't get the guerrillas to fight in the open then they in a way turn to a kind of "kill em all and let god sort em out" mentality.
