The Ghurkas are Nepalese soldiers who fought alongside the British Army in the 20th century. Theres been alot of news coverage on them recently to do with a recent law which denies them right to settle in Britain after their service (most of those involved in the campaign thing are 80+), because Labour has said they cannot stay even though it was seen a one of the rewards for their service was that they could stay.
This case has been *all* over the news and I wondered what comrade's feel. I'm obviously against immigration restriction, but these guys were effectively mercenaries who fought for the British Empire for about 200 years, so I'm not really highly sympathetic to their specific cause anyway. I guess the real issue behind it would be Labour's racist immigration policy.
Thoughts, comrades?
