I love them as a band, but what the fuck is with England? Not only is it nationalist, its cringy, i know its meant to be a sort of left wing accepting nationalism and its not racist coming from them, but it's just cringy and pointless, such a shit song, all this shit about golden shores and not wanting to live anywhere else

wtf, this is from a class conciouss band, and this drivel makes me want to puke

I think this should be moved to Music.

Quite a few punk bands have flirted with the nationalist image, but are you sure they're not trying to use it as a form of satire? The same thing was done (obviously with the name in mind) by UK Subs.

no its a pretty serious song, serious tone, serious voice, if its irony its lost on me and very well concealed, it stinks of stupid nationalism

I'm going out in about an hour, but at some point i'll give it a wee download and pass on my views. I don't think I can properly comment without listening to it

Well, I guess it fits in the image of the proud, burly working class men. Proud of who they are, their class, and in this case, proud of their country too. I don't know exactly the situation with the AU. But there's several people who I've spoken to, who call themselves proud leftwingers and not nationalist at all, but who still feel proud of their country for some reason.

yup, pride without predjuidice, they stopped playing it in england itself though because of the nazi's liking it to much and now only play it overseas.

To be fair to them that's pretty decent a thing to do - even if I don't like their pride in country. Also it's hilariously ironic.
