There were two demonstrations today in Montreal.
One was organized by the the unions and Quebec Solidaire and the other by the sectarians. The one organized by the sectarians was really small about 300 people) and here were clashes with the cops. As one comrade described it " It was full of teenager revolutionaries. The cops came out and crushed them, so they run away.

The other one was a lot bigger(about 5 000-10 000 people) and had the participation of the actual working class. The Marxists in Quebec Solidaire called the workers to dissafiliate from the bourgeois PQ and affiliate to Quebec Solidaire so it can be transformed to a workers party. "Les patrons ont leurs partis, nous devons avoir le notre!"

Long live may day! For the workers of Quebec to affiliate to QS and join the marxists in Quebec Solidaire for the fight for a socialist society!

I'm actually quite jealous. :blushing: I think there is no way anyone could mobilize these fat-ass lazy ultra-nationalistic Finns to do anything that benefits the people, but dear god help others if something threatens Finnish national pride or patriotic symbols.
Friggin thousands of protesters?

This banner was at the front of the demonstration. It reads:
"Capitalism causes our misery! Let's demonstrate our anger!"

With about 2 500 people marching, the 2009 anti-capitalist
demonstration was considerably larger than last year's.

At the end of the demonstration, some protesters burned a
capitalist in effigy. The police didn't intervene, so the demo
ended without any major confrontation with the cops.
