Funny that al-Jazeera actually gives a damn about communists. Swedish media has been silent.

cool imagery, shit politics, i'm afraid. the flags look badass but they represent a fucking ridiculous 'ideology' of fascism in a not so good disguise.

I think thats a real danger, actually. This is basically the physical manifestation of the far-right's working class rhetoric in its attempts ot reinvent itslef or try to gain support from the radical fringe groups. Everything in those images is meant to look badman, the black flags looks like a black bloc, dark and unified, the communist symbology is obvious but then the national bent on it is there to appeal to patriotism. The clenched fist, raised at the angle of the sieg heil. These guys are trying to look radical rebellious and different. I mean the face masks are oh so radical left territory, but then they have them with their own logo on it.

It seems like autonomous nazism and all that shit. The whole far-right poaching of our scene with our ideas, symbols, behaviour, etc. This is dangerous because it combines nationalism with the working class appeal of left wing politics, and you could honestly say if you got aload of people out with those flags it doe slook intimidating and would make you think, whoah what the fuck is that, black flags with a hammer and sickle clearly portruding on it.

We need to basically spread the truth about these guys because you honestly couldn't blame a noob from looking at them and thinking they're some different form of communism with an emphasis on the colour black which, and they might get drawn to this through seeing this sor tof thing marching down their road. We need to make it clear these guys are just wacko fascists combining nationalism and fascism with pretty much everything else possible in an attempt to re-define themselves.

Dodgy shit stay clear.

I know. But reading the article, they mentioned a lot about obvious communist movements as well.

Funny that al-Jazeera actually gives a damn about communists. Swedish media has been silent.

The daily newspaper I read covered the Moscow march and the Nat-Bols with a picture and small comment within its five pages, including the front one, of Mayday reports.

I saw it on BBC World (their international news channel) too.

Maybe it is the Swedish media being not interested that is 'funny', not al-Jazeera making a comment.

It's the first time I see black nazbol flags - they used to be red, like the flag of the 3rd reich. Maybe it's an anarcho-nazbol faction?

probs a swap because it look cooler. the whole 'black bloc' thing is pretty effective for attracting people to the cause because it looks so damn cool.

And let's not forget Mussolini's blackshirts and Otto Strasser's Black Front. Talk about killing several birds with one stone.

I am puzzled byt the change to black, sadly it looks like the naz-bols are doing pretty well, I heard they were strugglin a couple of years back.

The change to the black just looks like a new version of an old thing. I dont think it signifies a change in ideology, some of the pictures still have the old flag in em.

The black flag is a compromise since the red one was forbidden by the courts becuase of looking too much like the nazi flag. On new Nazbol fotos you see only the black flag, the red one seems to be really used no more (at least in Russia).

please refrain from making such comments, we all agree we really don't like fascism but people are not evil, people do not need exterminated, and it doesn't help discussion.

No, they're not. They're a bunch of attention-seeking clowns into 'provocative' aesthetics and without an ounce of understanding of communism, fascism, capitalism, or anything else really. If they ever take over (which I don't think they will), Limonov and Co. will become ordinary state capitalists while their most fervent 'revolutionaries' will get purged like Rohm and Strasser in 1934.

Their flags are black now? I thought they used to be red; much like Nazi Germany's flag, but with a hammer and sickle as opposed to the Swastika. I can't really understand if these guys are fascists or if they're just calling for national liberation.

I thought they used to be red; much like Nazi Germany's flag, but with a hammer and sickle as opposed to the Swastika.

their red original flag was banned by court in the Russian Federation for it looked to much like the 3rd Reich flag its self. So they chose the color black and apperently it got them attention. Since if you look at both flags only difference is the swastika.

I can't really understand if these guys are fascists or if they're just calling for national liberation.

National Bolshevikism is related to Facism.

The whole situation is interesting since Communists (notice the big c) and national bolsheviks are essentially conservatives in russia. They are not looking to bring about total human liberation or worker control to the means of production. Thier aim is to return to the good ol' day of soviet russia.

On a side note the national bolsheviks are one of the very few groups mounting public protests against putin.

Both, some are confused leftists who want national liberation and see the NBP as only real revolutionaries and vanguard, since the KPRF is a Putin puppet, but others are simply fascists, who think Bolshevism is a synonym for a powerful and proud Great-Russia.
