Britney Spears - someone challenged me to make smart comment

In a chit chat thread i was asked to give my views on something, for example Britney Spears, because i'm not exactly politically informed. I used to like her in what...5 th grade. haha. But I now think shes an extremely bad role model for girls and gives singing a bad name. She isnt really that great of a singer, on her CDs her voice has been enhanced and she has better back up singers, and might I add that the only reason she dances and has back up dancers is probably to take the attention away from her bad voice. Also, the clothes have got to go, the shirts get lower, the skirts get higher, it's just crazy. So what if shes fit and has implants, that doesnt change the fact that she really sucks. She likes to pretend to be something for kids to look up to, but really shes just a little slut. Have u heard she's trying to get her 12 year old sister or something into singing? I hate it when singers bring there siblings into the spotlight, they also have nothing to offer, they live off their bro/sister's fame. It's terrible. for example Nick Carter (Backstreet Boy) his little brother Aaron Carter...psh he sucks. I'm guessing Britney's sister will suck too. They all need to give it up, when their looks go, they'll all be has beens.

Yes. She is ruining girls self-identity. Instead of just being themselves, they look at Britney Spears, and aspire to be her. What they don't understand is that not everyone can/should look like that (I saw a report on one of those T.V. news-magazine shows that girls are going under the knife to get their stomachs to look like Britneys). This is extremely unhealthy. Hopefully the trend is changing, because, it seems to me, that there is an increasing "Britney Backlash."

I dont think you should change yourself to look like someone else, if you want to change you should do it because you want to, and to change yourself it should be diet and exercise, and not excessively. No one has a perfect body, I guarantee everyone can find something even in its smallest measurement that they dont like something about themselves. But, if we all looked "perfect" we wouldnt know we're perfect because we'd all look the same. OK i'm confusing myself now, but maybe you get that I'm trying to say, don't try to be someone else, learn to love and live with yourself the way you are. (don't forget there's always room for improvement, as long as your happy with yourself though, improvement shouldnt become what you're focusing on.)

Britney Spears possibly can sing well. I don't know but if you listen closely you will realise that it is not only her singing for the majority of the song. With the technology they have today you can change the pitch of someone's voice to put it in tune, and various other effects can be used to make it sound better.
The whole aspect of nepotism in the music business is ridiculous also. Aaron Carter gets to be rich and famous just cos his brother got lucky, it ridiculous. Musicians (ha! musicians, there are very few these days) no longer need talent, they need PR. Makes me sick.

No talent whatsoever. She has "backup singers" sing for her in the records when she screws up and (like all other teenyboppers) dosen't sing live. My friends sister works in the music industry and knows all about the dirty, money-grubbing shit the teen idols are put through. If she is going to base her career on her looks then she should be a model or whatnot, not a musician.

The problem with MTV and the music industry in general is that the top-notch popular artists are in it to be rich and famous, not because of the music. I, as a musician, take it really badly that music is being USED for personal gain and influence over the same brainwashed pop culture that flops behind Bush when he makes his idiotic speeches about terrorism.
