Just some interesting and very true statements from one of the greatest comedians of the 20th century. I really do think that he was a philosopher in his own kind of way. When he did stand up, he also made you think about what he was telling you.

Any way here are some quotes by Bill:

“If you don't think drugs have done good things for us, then take all of your records, tapes and CD's and burn them.”

“Watching television is like taking black spray paint to your third eye.”

“The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people.”

I really enjoy this one:
“I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here. 'I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.' 'I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.' 'Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!'”

“Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn't the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural?”

Any way have you ever heard of him and if so what are your views on him. I will not put you down for your beliefs.

We all love Bill.

He's my all time favorite comedian.

But that doesn't change the fact that this belongs in chit chat ;)

Fucking genious! I love Hicks with a passion! He was not only a funnyman but also a person who stood out and pointed out everything about whats wrong with America. The Waco Disaster is something that transformed him completely from a Comedian to an Activist.

I love this one:

"Orange Drink! The British wanted me to advertise a beverage called "Orange Drink". Its such a fucking Socialist nightmare over there right now!" hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I'm sure given the number of threads about Hicks, and when every newblood (incl. myself when I was new) opens up a thread about Hicks, maybes he should get his own sub-forum! Or of there's a comedy sub-forum off either chat or L+F.

His social commentary was OK, but I liked it better when he just went off on long, ranting obscene riffs on certain subjects.
