I dont think that you should mix your music taste to much with your political opinions!

Me liking Metallica doesnt mean that i am i cappy bastard!

i am a Hardcore Marxist Leninist and i think that there music is really good.

im not saying that all of there lyrics is good but they play great music! If some one has a different opinion please tell!

Excellent Metallica albums:

Master of Puppets (1986)
Ride the Lightning (1984)
Metallica (1991)

Everything else sucks to be honest...

In my opinion, they've sucked for as long as Cliff's been dead. Not that he held they band together or anything, but let's face it, the albums with Newstead just can't compare. at least I think so. but I don't like most metal anyway.

Master of Puppets is fantastic.
so is the black album. They've done loads of brilliant shit.

Thankfully I can do this without being hypocritical. See the "Reggae is the music of leftism" thread.

i would have to say that anything before the black album was great. the only descent piece of work since then was S&M. My fave song is One. that was a piece of art right there.

me and my gf's ong is nothing else matters. the lyrics are strong and great to listen to with someone.

i agree that your political stance is of no reflection to your music. music is universal. unless the lyrics are one way, such as rage, usually music is not one way and means nothing.

I don't know it's prper name or when they released it but I like "call of catulla" or whatever it's called. It's all instrumnetla with some great guitar (i'm a guitar addict, if there's a good guitar i usually like it).

You should listen to that tune, "Orion", on Master of Puppets. Great song.

In my opinion .. if u like such as music , it doesnt mean that u like to be like them 100% .. it just say the u share them some of them ideas ... revolutionary thoughts ..
And dont forget that Metal is great music ..

It's off the self-titled album (better known as the black album), and, personally, I love it...

mentalbunny,

enter sandman is on "metallica" but most people call it the black album. i think that its their last good album.

has anyone seen the "one" filmclip? its got heaps of bits from the movie adaptation on "johnny got his gun" by dalton trumbo. (one of my fave books) bloody cool filmclip.

Nothing Else Matters is another great song, and the rhythm guitar is real easy to play as well.

Anyone seen "A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica"?
It is fantasticly superb. It is two videos.

One is the making of the black album, in the sstudio and all that shit.
The second is all about the tour they went on after the recording.
There's also a lot of their videos in it.
Worth buying.

The One video got me into Metallica in the first place. It's probably the most powerful music video I've ever seen. Not to mention an amazing song, their best in my opinion.

Apart from One, no. The albums either side of it are much better.
