Why does Reggae suck, deadpool? I don't consider myself a huge listener of reggae, but I do love Bob Marley and the Wailers. Marley is one of my all time favorite musicians. In the same genre I also like Buju Banton.

Reggae isn't necesarily "happy". Yes most reggae is of optimistic nature and makes you happy but there are quite a bit of reggae songs (such as "Guns of Brixton" and "Police and Thieves" by The Clash, and pretty much any Fishbone track)that has a dark feel to it.

Well, yes, listening to any good music with a good message makes you happy. I am just as happy listening to Sodom and Dying Fetus as I am listening to Bob Marley or The Congo's. What Im trying to say is that Reggae isn't exactly motivated by happiness. The rudeboys are and were angry about injustice and imperialism and ska and reggae bands many times express that anger through their music. Its anything but a conformist genere as some may believe.
