and? the state had 20 undercover officers working in militant back in the '80s that they now admit to, on that basis i'd guess it was more like 200.
frank chapple, supposed "communist" and leader of the electricians union admitted being a paid employee of mi5.
i have a horrible suspicion that the swp is controlled by the state, it's divisive attitudes and top down approach reflect the kind of attitudes that the capitalist state employ.
we should not be "shocked" or frightened, we should not accept defeat on the basis that our organisations are "infiltrated" or "controlled", the whole of the capitalist society we live in is "infiltrated" and "controlled", but we managed to think and act for ourselves. if we can do it, so can everybody else.

Well hopefully Plane Stupid are intimidated into readjusting their tactics rather than pissing people off.

This is not surprising considering police harassment of environmentalist groups recently such as the latest dawn raids.

' tis the "war on terror".
you environmentalists are challenging the basis of capitalist production, whether you're aware of it or not, therefore you are "terrorists".
welcome! you've joined us militants and revolutionary socialists in the "got to be beaten into submission" club :D.

Lenin pointed out that infiltrants also had to be active and sell the paper. Let them infiltrate and do our work

Every left organization in the US (and probably elsewhere) has infiltrators in their midst. They always have, and always will.
What I find creepier even is that a few socialist websites I've visited are so...odd, I've wondered if they aren't in fact completely set up and run by spies.
It's enough to make you sick, really.

 It'd be funny if the police became communists themselves!
during the russian revolution a lot of them did.. they are workers too!
underpaid and undervalued and used by the capitalists to promote their values rather than the values MOST policemen joined the police for.

of course they are, it's a battle for minds that is going on in the first instance.
we rev lefties are trying to free our comrades from capitalist mind sets, the capitalists will do anything to prevent us slaves from thinking for ourselves, and, if you think this web site is free of capitalist servants and spies, then you are living in dreamland.
free your own self comrade.

I do believe there's some spying going on here, in fact there was a poll recently to that effect.

BCBM and STJ have summed it up. This isn't exactly suprising, the police have been doing ALOT worse things than this for decaded. It's just another one of their tools to bring down opposition in any way possible.

I dont remember well, but there was this czarist infiltrator in the Bolshevik party. But there was such discipline over all members of respecting the decisions that had been carried out, that the infiltrator turned out to be giving some of the best speeches to workers:lol:

Where did he say this comrade? I'd be interested in bringing this to a party meeting.

We've had people post this before. The police are not workers. In a revolution, police and the military are opportunistic - they will only support revolutionaries if they are the ones likely to win and gain power. They are mercenary in their attitude.

actually, one of the bolsheviks in parliament was a member of Okrana. He had to say what the majority in the party wanted anyway, so he was actually quite useful :p (apparently he was a good speaker)

That's what I was referring too!! When the party functions correctly infiltrators can be neutralized.

Not really. The police even had informers in my local punk scene when I was growing up! They were usually junkies whom the cops left alone under one condition: every now and then, they had to see the cops and report what the more violent/criminal elements within the scene were up to.

It's old hat. Police have their little helpers everywhere.
