I'm getting bored of my collection, I need something to revitalise it, preferably quite heavy, i'm thinking about pitchshifter or (hed)pe, but i'm not sure. i need ideas, from pretty much any genre really.

Yeah, most people do not have their musical taste buds developed until around twenty.

Lately, I have been really digging The White Stripes' album, White Blood Cells.

I'm 16 on wednesday and I'm currently in canterbury (good ol' boarding skool! don't you just love/hate (delete as appropriate) it!!)

I've just bought Play-Moby, Rated R-Queens of the stone age and the first SOAD album, but i'll get another next week probably.

Thanks for all the advice, keep it coming, but sorry storman, i'm not keen on Korn or greenday.

Which Rage album is the best? Whcich Tool album's are good?

thanx a tonne guys, lotsa luv to u all (espec GR!!)

Which Rage album is the best?

The first, self-titled, one.

Whcich Tool album's are good?

Anything Tool piss on is excellent. My personal favourite is "Aenima" though. That's the black one with the weird white light thing on the front.

Order of RATM albums in my opinion.

1) RATM
2) Battle of Los Angeles
3) Renegades
4) Evil Empire

Evil Empire is way better than Renegades man

BOZG

I think both are very similar but there's something about EE that I don't really like. There's times when I can't even stand to listen through the whole album unlike RATM which I could just play over and over and over and not get sick of it.

mentalbunny
8th September 2002, 15:03
thanx guys. it really sucks cos at HMV they've got three cds for £20 but RATM-RATM isn't in it, only the other RATM albums. what does pink floyd sound like? should i get some?

BOZG
8th September 2002, 15:07
Best thing to do is stick one of the labels on RATM and try and get it for cheap. If it doesn't work you haven't lost out on anything.

BOZG
8th September 2002, 15:16
Anyway our opinions are going to be different as you see the actual backing music as the most important aspect of the song.

mentalbunny
8th September 2002, 17:44
I guess I know what you mean, I often find myself listening to the guitars and stuff in the background as opposed to the lyrics.

If you like White Blood Cells, get DeStijl, in my opinion it is a far superior album to White Blood Cells, even though I love that as well.

I guess it's true what deadpool 52 said about age affecting musical preferences...I'm 22 and I guess I've been down that "angry-young-male" road long enough; I used to listen to Nirvana every fucking day when I was all of fifteen, and went through that vicious Punk/Grunge/Hardcore/Nu-Metal phase until Chino Moreno started to actually make sense and Rage became just another loud band. I still appreciate rock music, and there's nothing better than letting loose in the moshpit on some days, but I think I've had enough of that.

In recent years I been listening to mostly trance, progressive house and drum n bass, I don't really understand how to say this, but most of the people in my age group are very much listening to these kind of sounds, in addition to two-step garage, downbeat, trip hop, jungle and heaps of other electronica.

Right now, I guess I'm more or less in that loop. So, seeing as I've explained myself, I'd recommend the new Paul Oakenfold album - Bunkka, Dieselboy - Project Human (hardcore drum n bass), Aphrodite and practically anything from Ministry of Sound.

Harriet - For Floyd albums, get either Wish You Were Here, The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon. They are an amazing band.

BOZG - Bulls On Parade and Vietnow make Evil Empire...

lol, guerrillaradio...Change, Knife Prty, Be Quiet and Drive...the music on White Pony isn't as hardcore as the previous two albums; there's less heavy riffing, the drums don't sound as punchy and the pace is noticably slower...but Chino sure knows how to mindfuck you with his lyrics... :)

CD's? That is old techology.

mentalbunny
22nd September 2002, 17:15
Well some of us are jsut deprived. I don't really think you can call CD's old technology, besides that's not what we're discussing here.

about the lesbian action, I'm totally straight, it's natural for straight girls to find other members of their sex attractive, it's part of what being a woman (or girl) is about.

I love tenacious d's greatest song in the world (tribute), cheers me up no end. does anyone have the requiem for a dream soundtrack, just listening to it makes me cry.
