I extended this invitation to my blog leadership and now to all revleftians.

From my blog (http://therevolutionscript.blogspot.com/2009/04/open-source-revolutionary-politics.html):
People have misunderstood me and assumed that my aspirations for a free, sovereign and socialist state of Vermont included me finding my way into some sort of leadership position. The people will lead the revolution and I will follow the people's lead. In this vein I want to try an experiment. Rather than me and any single person or group writing the new constitution of Vermont, I decided to take a more Open Source approach. This article will be a continually written document; as it stands now I have only included the current declaration of rights from the Vermont Constitution and one article concerning the formations of militias. Because this blog isn't a wiki, it won't be truly open source but I want to rewrite or write this document with the help of my readership. In the comment section, post any suggestions, edits or brain storms about what has been written. I log will be kept so readers can see what has been changed and for what reasons. I am excited about the potential of this article and hope that my readers are as well.

True freedom in one's own area, unless it effects in a negitive way another person or items.

This thread makes less and less sense... Perhaps it belongs in chit-chat?

I know of one member of the Socialist Party USA from Vermont who publicly supported Vermont independence, his name is Peter Diamondstone.

My issue with such movements is it's not that hard for them to become a distraction, however, if such a movement can be a vehicle for Vermont to become socialist, then it would really be an exciting development. I have to wonder if the right-wing is trying to take over that movement. I assume that a lot of the liberals that might have supported Vermont independence under Bush have drifted away, I wonder if the Vermont movement attracted a bunch of "tea party" right-wingers in recent times...

I do not think independence movements in the USA are all that controversial, I only have a big problem if they are motivated by race...as some are, as the Confederacy was.

If you are fighting for a socialist Vermont, then you can create an organization with that purpose. But maybe you don't have to, there is a socialist party in Vermont called the Liberty Union Party, your ideas might be well received there.

I know of Peter Diamondstone, a close comrade of some comrades of mine. He ran for governor this past cycle and them attempted to bar him from the debates but eventually got to participate.

I understand and share many of your sentiments on the movement. I am not a part of the mainstream VT secession movement and have many issues with their techniques and goals. As for right wingers becoming part of the movement, that hasn't happened as far as I know, the NH free state project is more the vehicle for that.

Building a more progressive/socialist social movement in VT is definitely on my list and when I return from Hawai'i I am have plans with other socialist in the state to start trying to build such a movement. Diamondstone ran as the Liberty Union Party candidate and my comrades are members. While I see them as potential allies, I do not wish to be constrained by the electoral system.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I do not understand why I am receiving such a negative reaction to this thread from some people, including receiving negative reputation points. Perhaps somebody could explain why this thread seems incredulous, ridiculous, etc.?
