Our Enemy Is Cynicism

I've been contemplating recently that perhaps technology and the class struggles of Marxism are linked (and with a little research I think that perhaps this is what Marx's believed anyway- I really need to read more...)
i.e.
Primitive Communism=Tools, fire, etc are invented allowing for development of what we would call 'humanity'.
Slave Society= Agricultural Revolution allows for cities and thus the creation of a developed hierarchy and property system.
Feudalism= ?? I'm not sure, I'm inclined towards saying something about more developed agriculture?
Capitalism= Industrial Revolution and the like, steam power and the inventions which allow for the creation of factories.
Socialism= We can only debate what this might be tied to. I might suggest that it could be the Open Source movement, or maybe the future of the Internet.
Thoughts?
