Bitter Ashes

Well, the new budget came to the UK yesterday.
At the top of it comes the much publicised 5% tax hike on people earning more than £100k a year, the top 1% of the country. This means the very highest earners are now taxed at a rate of 50%.
Before you cheer too loudly though and begin to allow those ideas of "Wow. Maybe reformism does work" creep into your mind, explore the rest of the budget.
What's the tax hike for exactly? Well, it's there to help pay the intrest on the massive debt taken out to make the payments to bail out failing companies. How massive are we talking? One trillion GBP. The repayments will cripple us even more than the rebuilding after WW2. It's totaly unprecidented.
That's a lot of money going back the bourgeois.
Dont forget too that the bourgeois have plenty of ways to ensure that they can evade paying any of that 50% tax on thier profits too. Who remembers the 10p tax bracket biend scrapped? The lowest earners had thier tax rate nearly tripled and after a fight, were awarded the crumb of a little extra Working Tax Credits (only if you're over 25, working more than 30 hours a week, or a parent). What we're seeing here the extact opposite. The bourgeois are bieng taxed a crumb more, when you add on thier evasion techniques and are bieng showered with 1 trillion pounds!
So, it comes at little suprise that the other parts of the budget expose who's really going to pay this debt off:
- Under 25's who have been out of work for longer than 12 months will now be forced into work in whatever place they are told to go. Mmm, nothing like a labour camp filled with young, strong workers with no escape huh? Just when you thought New Deal was bad...
- Massive cuts in public spending. Yes, you heard right. That trillion pounds will not be going towards the NHS that is currently killing its patients to meet the already tight budget. It wont be going to the 2.1 million jobless who have not had thier welfare benefits raised in a decade, whilst prices rocket. They're actualy going squeeze even tighter!
I'm sure others can conribute more ways that the Labour goverment is making the workers of the UK pay for the bourgeois' 1 trillion.
I wonder how many in the UK will be decieved into thinking that the rich are finaly bieng punished?
