I was drawn to them strictly because I just love the music, but the more I learn about their political stance, I love them even more.
I am in the "tenclub" wich is their fan club. They send out like two newsletters a year. The last one they sent out was the first one since 9/11 and it had nothing to do with the band. It was all politics. It was called "manual for free living".
The first page was a little letter by Eddie Vedder kind of describing what the newsletter was all about. And the rest was all pictures and quotes from people such as Noam Chomsky, Daniel Quinn, Howard Zinn, Arundhati Roy, Michael Moore and much more. It also featured that one quote from julius ceasar, "beware the leader who bangs the drum of war in order to whip the citezenry into a patriotic fervor..."
It also featured a suggested reading list with a bunch of anti-capatalist books. It was awesome.

I like them. My favourite songs of theirs are Jeremy and Do The Evolution, but they have plenty of great songs.
And that Julius Caesar quote...
"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."

10 is awesome. They are a briliant band. Sometimes its a bit hard to understand Eddie's lyrics but they are very deep and profound, a band that actually thinks. Best songs probably Jeremy, Corduroy and Betterman.

Pearl Jam is fucking awesom, although I think Ten is a little bit overproduced. To perfect. I like Vs. better. Best songs are Betterman, Black, RVM and Bugs is funny :-).

I saw their new video today. Vedder's shaved his head. I stop liking Pearl Jam when their rock n roll-grunge combo became country-MOR.
