their call for full powers to the president sounds rather authoritarian. you can be sure if they were left wing there would some socialist reference there, i'm guessing right authoritarian. republican as in the sense of the us republican party!

The Government and all the commentators tell us that we cannot do without a banking system for the economy to keep running. There cannot be any argument about that. But the key word here is the indefinite article “a”. We certainly need a banking system but do we need the banking system that we have? Can we even afford the banking system that we have given its massive but unquantified debts?
Seems kind of right wing, a left wing group would criticise the baking system as a whole idea with different rhetoric.

Anyway, yeah, I would find it unlikely to find a left-wing group supportive of the likes of Fred Goodwin.
