Both are on Saturday (4/25):
(1) Anti-Racist Action L.A. is screening a movie to celebrate Mumia Abu-Jamal's birthday. It is at the Southern California Library (http://www.socallib.org/about/directions.html) at 5pm. (I will be at this).
If you've never seen the So Cal Library you should come to this event for that reason alone; it is an old library that started during McCarthyism as a repository for leftist books that people considered too dangerous to keep in their personal book collections. Now it serves as a meeting space for leftist events. And it still has most of those cool books.
(2) Party for Socialism and Liberation is having a conference on socialism. It is at Los Angeles City College from 11am-4pm. See here (http://www.pslweb.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=11555&news_iv_ctrl=1503) for the description.
