This conflict is very tragic. The Singalese government of the 1980's rallied the Singalese majority against the Tamil minority and perpetuated several massacres on them - mostly to direct dissent towards a goal. Tens of thousands of civilians have been killed, while the entire surrounding world has applauded the massacre.
