That the Labour Party in the 70s should have taken inspiration from Uncle Joe and just purged every single neo-liberal third way reformist motherfucker from the party? Then they would look like less of a hypocritical mess. Not that social democracy works, but at least they weren't as big fuck ups as they are today. Seriously, you just need to wipe out 90% of your party.

True say, but the hypocrisy is so embarassing. Also Labour going right is why some people have gone to the BNP.

Errr... Callaghan purged all the leftist members in the 70s. And a Labour PM has always been on the right of the party anyway, so it's kind of a redundant point.

True, it was in chit chat mainly cos the idea of tony benn purging the revisionists from the party was humerous for me
