I actually bought the game, havent' installed it yet. I played the other Jagged Edge games and they rock.

Jagged Edge: Hired Guns
Your task is to stop a ruthless dictator on the west coast of Africa. In order to achieve this goal, you command an elite unit of 30 well-trained mercenaries and have access to over 150 different weapons. To dispossess the dictator is a tactical challenge: Five hostile fractions are raging in the African country, so you have to interact carefully between the warring parties.

It is essential to plan your operation well, therefore you will be provided with various background information from different in-game sources. You should carefully consider the order of the missions as well as the formation of your team of different combat specialists – the mercenaries all have specific powers. And finally, you should be thorough in choosing between the large number of weapons – from handguns and assault weapons to sniper rifles, machine guns, and grenade launchers.

Once you have picked your team, you choose the next operation site on a clearly laid out map. In turn-based battles, each of your mercenaries has over 25 action points at the start of each round, that they will use for shooting, running, changing weapons or further actions. How many actions a mercenary can perform depends on their specific attributes and on the type of weapon they use. In addition, you should consider which body zones a mercenary aims at as each hit causes a different degree of damage, and the hit probability varies.

There are no other Jagged Edge games. I think you're confusing this with Jagged Alliance.

That said, this game was going to be Jagged Alliance 3, but the Ukrainian developer got fucked by Strategy First, who stripped them of the rights. But GFI released what they had anyway. As it stands, the game is sorely lacking in polish, but it is highly moddable. There are probably community patches/mods out by now which fix a lot of the issues.

I say, this looks baller as hell.

You should do a "REVLEFT PLAYS:" sort of thread like they do on SomethingAwful.

Farcry2 has something of a progressive edge on it.

It makes me lol when you see the poster on the wall saying: UFLL = Communist Dictatorship.

Yeh both are scum. But then you fight against them to help the underground resistance evacuate people and ultimately you fight for the people so its kinda progressive.

UFLL and APR are just meant to represent decadent, violent gangs.

Great game, i'm sad i completed it so fast.

Yeah, that's what I pretty much expected. I haven't gotten very far as I haven't played it enough but its a great game.

When I first started the game, I was getting pissed because you cant really choose sides, and I was wondering if I was ever going to have a band of militants on my side for a change.

No not at all, I figured you would be fighting against them "officially" eventually, since you are always considered an enemy to any soldiers even if you are working for their commanding officers. I have a few buddies Quabarnhi, and the Cuban-Angolan girl as the second buddy who comes and saves your ass whenever you lose all your health. I really need to play that game and try and beat it.

Yeah your right, I confused the franchise name, its Jagged Alliance. I actually installed Jagged Edge and can't get it to work. What a fucking waste, doesn't help that everyone else who got the ever is on ukranian sites and posting in non English
