http://wonkette.com/407879/and-there-was-quite-a-teabagger-yiff-on-second-life-tooI love the idea of a right wing furry on second life. What, is obama threatening to tax in Lindon Dollars all sex animations and genetalia models or something? Polygon breasts or not, thats a sweaty man in his forties controlling that fox lady thing and I'm pretty sure the far right would have him burned as a witch if they knew what lifestyle he led.

What a waste of good tea. Those signs were more comical than offensive. Especially the kids with "Liberty or Death" and all that such, catch them when they're young eh?

I liked the one with "Republicans" and "Democrats" crossed out and underneath it says "We the people".

What?, it's a left-wing message....too bad these teabaggers don't realise it.

Kassad

Well, these guys seem to comprehend a tiny fraction of the message. I saw a sign at the protest I was at in Columbus that said "A Tax on Labor is Slavery." I was thinking, yeah, you're right, but we should be taxing those who don't labor. Corporate executives and the rich who inherit wealth, but contribute nothing to society. Corporations that break the law, dodge taxes and produce unsafe, sub-par quality and often fatal products. It's kind of like rat poison. 98% of it is good for you, but the 2% is what kills you.

...Except, in this case with these lunatics, 2% is good and the 98% is what kills you. Fuck, I'm done with these metaphors.

Some of the signs on the Flickr feed are just odd. There's one on there that says 'United States of France.' I also quite liked 'God is a capitalist.'

I have no idea how to make any inroads with people who are this far gone into a rightwing mindset. I dont know about the rest of you but the teabaggers at my school were people from WEALTHY families (one is a girl whose grandfather was a deputy to Francisco Franco!!) and all miffed McCain supporters who were told by His Holiness Sean Hannity that NOW it is ok to question the govt

This is the mindset.

My impression of the typical American republican is that the person has the debate level of an eight-year old kid.

American conservatism is an ideology for children.

European conservatism is actually light years smarter.

Yeah, pretty much. I used to live in a "red state" and had to put up with jack-offs like this band here day in and day out. Arguments usually end up with "UR WRONG CAUSE UR UN AMERIKAN!" etc, etc. I'm surprised these signs aren't written out homophonically at this point.

I generally find European conservatives quite enjoyable to debate. Even right-wing christian fundamentalists often know their theology. Usually, only people who are mentally insane starts shouting here.

Its actually both.

The Right Brothers take it pretty seriously.

The joke part is rather unintentional.

You make me want to run off to the UK now! :crying:

American conservatives generally vary between the Rockefeller breed and the, well, CAVE-PEOPLE. And with the Raegan "revolution" (reactionary capitalist counter-revolution) the half-wits have taken the helm, effectively manipulating the masses who's class interest is not served by conservatism (and, of course, capitalism in general) into being more concerned about the asinine. The result is more repression, less resistance, and child-like temper-tantrums given by flag-waving dolts who think they are winning an argument if they spit out enough cliches and dround out your voice with rhetoric not sophisticated enough to be printed on bumper-stickers.

By me a one way airplane ticket, won't you, comrade?

No, that was pretty funny, don't you think? It was nothing offensive to Blacks or Gays or anything--just a bunch of kids with a pretty tight band and some pretty rightest lyrics.

They weren't nasty or mean, just well, "opinionated."

No, I thought it was quite humorous but annoying and anti-historical.

Plus, the songwriting and composition was incredibly unoriginal.

Some right-wing bands are quite enjoyable.

It's all about Rush.

The signs, incidentally, show how utterly pathetic the "ideology" of these people really is. "Duh we don't like paying taxes or having a negro tell us what to do!" pretty much sums it up.

The idea for those Tea Parties started with Ron Paul supporters like myself. (Ron Paul is not a perfect libertarian, but by far he is the only politician in Washington DC an Anarcho-Capitalist like me can somewhat support.) This idea has then been subverted by the evil Republican machine and there's no rhyme nor reason to it any more. I didn't see any signs mentioned on this thread that I would care to defend.

No, what we dont like is taking so much of our money and we have absolutely no say on how its spent.

Don't worry your little head, it's still going to go toward war and advancing capitalist interests, perhaps a few mopre crumbs will fall to the workers but nothing really has changed. So my question to you, as someone who I presume supports this bollocks, is why now? What monumental change has occured that has forced the hardcore misanthropes out in force?

I love how these guys complain about the government taking the "fruits of their labor" (which is a term I use a lot btw). Count up all the wealth that Capitalists make out of the fruits of other peoples labor, it makes taxes look like chump change, and guess what, the Capitalists ONLY use their money for their own power and more yacts. At least the government puts some of it back to society.

Its such a twisted view of the way economic power works.

Perfection is an abstract concept, one that subjectivists can't even agree on with themselves.

I agree, and I think it's unfair to stereotype everyone turning out for these protests. I'm sure that a negligible amount, if any at all, are leftists. But when you look at the interviews, some people say they're sick of the government spending money without the taxpayers having any say in it. IOW, a lack of democracy. Well guess what, I'm pissed about that as well. Bailouts, corporate welfare, astronomical defense spending...even if I can't have more social programs, I would still be happy to cut that right-wing stuff from the budget. And make no mistake, that stuff comprises the majority of your tax money. There is nothing inherently leftist about government spending.

Just because they're not leftist protesters doesn't mean that they are totally unreasonable or hardcore anti-leftists.
