On May 1st, anti-capitalists, anti-imperialists, progressives, revolutionaries and activists will gather in Montreal for a grand demonstration and march.
Festivities will begin at 5:30PM at Cabot Park, on the corner of Atwater and St. Catherines (Atwater Metro), on Friday May 1st.
Confirmed involved groups are:
La Pointe Libertaire, Revolutionary Communist Party (Canada), La Union Communiste Libertaire, RASH (Red and Anarchist SkinHeads), ANTIFA Montreal, Anarkhia Collective, Le Comite Sans-Emploi, UQAM Anti-Capitalist Committee, Apartide Anonymous, Ligue International de Luttes des Pueples, PINAY, and the Center of Philippines Concerns. At past events, the Iranian Socialist Union, Communist Party of Quebec, the International Marxist Tendency/Hands Off Venezuela and others have also taken part.
A WORD OF CAUTION: At last year's May 1st demonstrations in Montreal, despite the peaceful and family-friendly nature of the march, we were attacked by police with teargas and good ol' baton beatings, resulting in several injuries, including children and older persons. So be advised.
