What's Fishbone????

Where the hell have you been living your whole life??? To not know Fishbone is like not knowing....ummm...something really, really important.

Fishbone has been around since like 87 or 88. They are a crazy mix of punk/ska/heavy metal/jazz/r+b/rocknroll. The thing I most admire about them is that they are true to whatever genre they are playing. They don't sound like a punk band when they play reggae--they sound like a reggae band. They don't sound like an r+b band when they play metal--they sound like a metal band.

They were very popular around 93 when they had a video on MTV for Everyday Sunshine. I think there was one for Fight the Youth as well. Anyway, they are an incredible band that does not stop working. Check out:

A fishbone is like a variation on a french braid, but using two groupings of hair instead of the french three :)
