I'll be moving to Florida (Tampa-Clearwater area) soon, and I'm looking to see if anyone here has information on any serious political groups that could fall under the general heading of "libertarian socialist/communist".

I'm a Platform-Anarchist myself and I hope there'll be some anarchist groups about, although I'll be happy to get in touch with a wide range of parties/groups. This applies to groups all over Florida (not just the Tampa area) as well because it'll be useful for me to be able to contact people for advice/logistical support while I attempt to set up a new group (if I go that route).

I haven't directly participated in political agitation or anything as of yet since I'm 17 and just starting college in a few months (I know some of you were involved at a younger age than that but hey... I'm a late bloomer :blushing:).

I'd like to familiarate myself and network with as many groups as I can, so that I can see what I have to pick from and can develope some useful contacts along the way.

I'm currently bandying about some ideas about a general union of libertarian groups that I may be able to put into action after more refinement and some close involvement in local radical politics.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

~Blackscare (Joe)

The Party for Socialism and Liberation has a branch in Miami. We send portraits of Stalin to all new members. ;)

But really, I have no clue. The Anarchist Tension organized this thread with lists of multiple organizations: http://www.revleft.com/vb/political-organisations-t27951/index.html?t=27951

Hope that's helpful.

You may want to get in touch with JohnnyDarko. He's an anarchist and he lives in Florida, I believe. He might know.

Since the WSA left the IWA (there's a looong story involving it being hijacked and everything, probably on Anarkismo or Libcom) it has really been inactive.
