Here's my shameless plug for our (Art for a democratic Society) new zine making fun of Todd Gitlin and liberals in general. Our store also has our older zines and buttons.

This new zine from Rude Mechanicals features essays and a short story from fictional character Todd Wupperman. Poking fun at both establishment liberals and conservatives, this zine is a parody of Todd Gitlin's (former SDS founder and now sell-out) book, Letters to a Young Activist.

Oh, I'm sorry, wasn't this the cultural section of the website where people post the pictures they've made or talk about books they've read or stories they've written. My mistake, this is the apathy forum apparently.

Why you should be concerned:
Um, it's a satirical zine by a fellow comrade. You don't need to be interested, but again I thought this was the part of the website devoted to comrade art and stories and discussions of mainstream art and lit.

Who is Todd Gitlin:
Todd Gitlin was a radical in the 60s who now blames the Black Panthers and other radicals for everything from the Iraq war and George W. Bush to New Coke.

Some of the essay titles in my satire of Gitlin are:

A Letter to Young Activists

Why Do Protesters Have to Be So Demanding?

Green the Machine: Towards an Environmentally Sustainable War on Terror

An Inconvenient Man: How the Ralph Nader Documentary is Stealing Rentals From Al Gore's Documentary

You Don't Need a Wupperman to Know Which Way the Wind Blows

No one is saying you this isn:t for posting cultural stuff, only that I was curious but didn:t feel driven to press the link. That is all.
