sugarcandy113, don't forget oi-polloi! They are the only Scotish punk band I know, to be honest, but they totally rock! I saw them live a couple of weeks ago, it was really cool. They are one of the most radical bands I ever saw. The lead singer smashed his fist right in the face of an idiot who wanted to prevent that the singer burns the German flag. After that the whole crowd gave the nazi skinhead what he deserved. :)

Each to his own, i quite like Blink, they're good for a n esy going mood or even in an ultra depressed mood woth Adam's Song (dont ask)
On the subject of scottish punk, what about the exploited?! Oi Polloi are cool too, but the exploited at least deserve a mention.

Oh, The Exploited are Scotish? I always thought they are English.

I don't enjoy pop punk, I find that the lyrics are stupid(sorry if I offend you, but its just my opinion).
My favorite political punk band would be Anti-Flag or Propagandhi. Favorite punk band would be....Rancid, or Sex Pistols, or The Clash, or The Exploited, or NOFX, or...yeah I like a lot...
I didn't know The Exploited were from Scotland...AHHH THE THUNDER HERE IS SO LOUD! It just scared the crap out of me. HUGE thunder storm here. Its scary.

However... i have to agree with claire about Quik, gilman st.,the x-certs,10 easy wishes, my decaying leg... and i wud say that quik wud be my facourite... followed by gilman and the excerts....
The good thing about all those bands is tho, that they all have different sounds... and its great! :P dont really now any other scottish punk type bands :(

Hey Man in the Red Suit, I just saw your avatar; have to say Nirvana was one of the most revolutionary(meaning a figure that changed the industry of music) and greatest bands in the world. Kurt Cobain was the best, I have a bunch of underground videos and stuff. One of the first bands I've listened to.
I agree that Blink182 songs are full of stupidity. "I love to fuck dogs with your mother". Then they start making teenage love songs so girls will fall in love with them "I was sitting on the toilet taking a crap looking out the window and I realized how much I loved her and how bad it smelled in here.

Nirvana is the greatest band of all times, and blink is one of the worst band of all times.

Your confusing the fuck out of me. Ive never been called Matthew in my life, no even when drunk.
Anyway, im still sticking to my praise of Blink in the face of adversity, some of their work is good depending on what mood you are in.Dont think about what they do outside music, just listen to their music with an open mind, that is all i ask. Ps. try to avoid most of 'take off your pants and jacket' that takes a very strange mood to really enjoy.

I fuckin hate Blink 182 with a passion. Here in so cal, they have been quite the trend for the last 3 years and its been absolutely impossible to avoid them. Even now that I almost never listen to the radio I always hear their asses whenever I turn it on. Im not into pop-punk in general but at least bands such as Green Day, Offspring, Bad Religion, Weezer, etc. are tolerable.

halaluyah, AMEN!!! I am also a co cal resident and I hate the fucking blink trend. Blink is not even tolerable. They do not even deserve to be classified under any genre of "punk." They are anything but.

Blink 182 is about as much punk as britney spears..
They were OKAY with chesire cat but it went downhill from there..

I do not do blink 182, they are just sooooooooo dull, everything sounds the same, along with all other pop punk. Puh-lease, do something original.
If you want to do ur music tast a favour you could do worse than listen to the best album ever written-Kid A by radiohead, my mate introduced me to it and I haven't looked back, some seriously good sh*t.
Personally nothing beats good metal.
Happy listening

you want a depressive band go with silverchair
as for blink 182? they sold out bad. After they became running buddies with MTV and turned their backs on the punk rock values I could stand to hear them for about 2 years. I have started to listen to the old stuff (which is quite good for pop punk) I still refuse to lid=sten to their new stuff though.
my rant is over

The Bends was the sound of a band unsure of which direction to go in. Their next two albums are quite possibly the two best ever albums to grace mankind...

Their Last two albums were the product of four years of experimentation. They released Kid A as a collection of some of the most diverse stuf they came up with during that time. And the last one released (name escapes me at this time) was designed to be better acceted by the general public. Have you ever heard Street Spirit? masterpiece and not the sound of a band unsure of what they were doing

The last one, Amnesiac, was little more than Kid B. I´m not such a fan of it. No doubt The Bends has its moments, Street Spirit being the obvious one, but many tracks off it smack of indecision.

To be honest, i havent heard too much of Kid A and what i have heard scares me (but in a good way).
Sorry i think i understnad what you mean by indecision but i think that their style encompasses that varying of styles. I still put it down to the way that a band changes as it matures.
