The U.S. Congress is also badly infested with CAPITALISTS.

Capitalists sell our kids tobacco, alcohol, and dope. (aka lobbyists)

Capitalists sell unsafe food (consider the latest food-poisoning scandal
at a peanut factory where the owner knew of the spoiled food)

Capitalists pollute the environment (coal burning power plants)

Capitalists charge 30% interest on bank loans (loan sharks)

Capitalists sell us unsafe and unreliable products (planned obsolescence)

This list is quite long, but the message is; let's stop demonizing those
who want fairness and justice (socialists) instead of "business-as-usual"

I think a lot of us see now, during this economic crisis, what a load of bullshit deregulation and the 'goodness of greed' turned out to be.


If they enact legislation to help a person at the bottom it's un-American socialism...

When they use our tax money to bailout the ultra-rich it's to save the American dream.

BTW I haven't heard of Bachus. I imagine an opening for more and more progressive candidates hopefully, though I doubt his constituents will throw his ass out unfortunately.

Typical right-wing scare-mongering. He tells the press that he has identified the socialist threat, but won't tell who they are, so as to keep people guessing and looking at their congresspeople (in this case, Democrats) with suspicion. Brilliant, really.

Just like McCarthy's list of "57 card-carrying members of the Communist Party," Bachus is only making a fool of himself and we all ought to remember this is McCarthyism rehashed and this Bachus nobody should just fade back into the obscurity he so richly deserves. Even if Bachus does end up making a big stink about his McCarthyist witch-hunt, he will self-destruct like McCarthy...
