I Will Deny You

This is a long story. But bear with me.
A few days ago, my dad calls and says, "Your mom is really pissed because Stones tickets are so expensive.
Me: Uh, okay.
Dad: But we haven't been going to lots of concerts lately.
I wonder why he's calling me about this.
So we thought maybe you'd know of something cheap.
Me: Well, there are those DC101 shows in Chinatown.
Dad: How much do they cost?
Me: They're free.
Dad: Are you going?
Me: I wasn't planning on it.
Dad: PPPpppplllllllllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssseeeeeee!! !!!!!!
Me: Oh, fine.
So, last night I went to a concert with my parents. It was one of the strangest experiences of my life, since I haven't done that since I was five and my entire family would pile into the bus and go to a Dead concert. The show wasn't especially good, but I was oddly uncomfortable. I'm usually very relaxed around my parents, but I was on edge all last night. The funniest part was when my mom went up to the Coca Cola tent because she was so thirsty (the concert was sponsored by Coke, among others) and got the people who worked there to sell her a coke for 50 cents, even thought they're supposed to charge two bucks. Afterwards she said, "I know that I should be happy that the concert was free in the first place. But I can't imagine paying two bucks for a Coke. I'd rather pay twenty bucks for tickets and a dollar for the Coke than nothing for the tickets and two bucks for a damned soda."
Well, I just thought I'd share.
