They CRUSHED Bayern, i have been watching until like 38 and they were destroying them, in every line, the attack trio Messi,Eto,Henry just do its magic today, and Messi has got even higher on m eyes.I didnt accepted that he is greater than Cristiano so far, but his game today, so far at least says something..He is definitely a great player.

Liverpool are all but sunk, Bayern are out.

Seriously how good is Hiddink? I mean Chelsea at full strength have a world-class squad - on paper they certainly out-match liverpool, but on the pitch they have not lived up to their potential until recently this season. But Hiddink? Everything this guy touches turns to gold it's really amazing.

Yeh, because Arsenal's talent developed naturally and has nothing to do with being a multi-million pound business. Chelsea are definatly the only football club to benefit from having alot of money. In fact I recall that the emirates was built brick by brick by loyal arsenal fans on a voluntary basis.

Toures case with Miquel was an OBVIOUS yrllow card for Miquel, i still cant understand why referee didnt gave one.Barca is crushing them, but Chelsea is only playing only in her defensive half:rolleyes: which it is stupid for a Champions Leaque semifinal, for that, i hope Barca beat them down, i hate that defensive football, especially from such big clubs in the big tournaments that they meant to be fun to watch.

Barça were dominant, but not playing particularly well. It's too bad, I was hoping that they would be able to break through at home. Now, Chelsea have a good chance of scraping a 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal have some good names on paper, but actually competing for the Premier League title is a whole other thing.

Regarding Jääskeläinen, I don't think it's wise to invest in an old goalie. If anything, I'd sooner go with Frey. The goal is not Arsenal's biggest concern, though. I'd get a somewhat faster and more secure centre back, a DM and a striker who is both strong in the air and a guarantee for goals (not Adebayor, apparently). Arshavin would make a good second striker just behind that forward.

For me the reason is that the team isn't really that good and is certainly unproven at the top level. In addition to this to win the title nowadays, you need a strong squad not just a strong team.

Yes, Man Utd are probably better, apart from them and Barca I think we have one of the best attacking teams in europe. As Killfacer said, the gulf is at the back. Our squad IS strong and I shall reitirate: If we shore up the defence then we will be a strong team next year. Also, with Arshavin anything is possible.

Interesting football night, altogether. I also wanted Barça to win, but I didn't feel that strongly about it. Hiddink did his very best to throw a spanner in the works and sabotage Barça's football at every turn. This man can produce some of the ugliest demolition football on this side of the North Sea (and possibly the other side, too), but god damn, it worked...

...Wait, it fucking didn't! Playing defensively against 10 men just to be safe, gah! Tactically sensible, but things don't always go according to plan. Chelsea's playing style was the negation of Barça's football. But Barça's sheer luck turned it all around again, the negation of the negation so to speak. Barça turned their defeat into its opposite. Although the refereeing was a farce, the outcome was a victory for enterprising football against negativity. The added bonus of the biggest cheat in the premiership getting his come uppance was brilliant karma!

As to the ref, it did appear that there is a justifiable claim that the ref did not wish to give a penalty to Chelsea at any cost, but was this a personal thing or was there some direction from FIFA? At what level would such pressure be put on a ref? If it was the case then the game is rotten to the core.

Wait, it fucking didn't! Playing defensively against 10 men just to be safe, gah! Tactically sensible, but things don't always go according to plan. Chelsea's playing style was the negation of Barça's football. But Barça's sheer luck turned it all around again, the negation of the negation so to speak. Barça turned their defeat into its opposite. I think that Manchester United are probably favourites. I think they will play very negatively, though maybe not as negativity as Chelsea did in Spain, just like they did against Barca in the semi-final last year.

It's sad for Chelsea, especially with the refereeing, but in the end, I also think that they had themselves to blame. If you play ultra-defensively against ten men, don't be surprised when things turn against you. It reminds me of a discussion I had with a comrade earlier, who said about Hiddink: he's a great manager, but he's never good for more than a semi-final...

As for the Man Utd - Chelsea final, I don't remember much of it last year. I was still in college at the time, and I think most of us were pretty drunk by then. I only remember that I managed to predict that Ronaldo would miss. But that wasn't really a great feat, you could see it from miles ahead. I also think Barça in the final will be better for football in the end. I think Man Utd will look at the semi-finals and try to tackle Barça in a different way than Chelsea tried.

Yes, Man Utd are probably better, apart from them and Barca I think we have one of the best attacking teams in europe. As Killfacer said, the gulf is at the back. Our squad IS strong and I shall reitirate: If we shore up the defence then we will be a strong team next year. Also, with Arshavin anything is possible.

I think that Chelsea really showed where Arsenal stand yesterday.

I agree with this. Our defence is laughable, our strike force should be a little more clinical when Eduardo is back but there is certainly room for improvement. Our midfield is certainly too light weight aswell.
