Eric Ruder reports on what's at stake in the CWA's battle for a new contract at AT&T.
As far as I'm aware, it hasn't been declared yet. Even though the contract has ended, negotiations continue.
My understanding from contacts that are dual-cards with the IWW is that the CWA is being slow to move on this and aren't prepared to win a strike, like most business unions these days. I know there was informational picketing two nights ago in Minneapolis by CWA members. As of now, I think things are still at a high point of energy, but nothing has concretely happened yet. Everyone's sort of looking at their cards.

The article says at the end correctly would be a focal point for discontent with the way things are but that management is trying to use the economic crisis to squeeze workers even more. If they do go on strike they will definitely need our support.
