sex pistols - what do they mean "no melody"?

why does everyone see that sex pistols have no melody.

I made fun of this in the dead kennedys thread.

I like sex pistols and yet I only hear people say that they have no melody.

The Sex PIstols would have sucked if thy all could play. The greatest thing about them was that people could see four men on stage and realise that they could create something -- that inspiring people is not something you learn in music school. On the other hand, the songs are actually well catchy -- what seperates them from every other punk band is how good the songs were. So just destory the [assers by who tell you that they've got no melody.

Sex Pistols were actually capable of writing when it suited them. God Save the Queen's one of the best punk songs ever. I also love Pretty Vacant and Holidays in the Sun. Steve Jones was capable of playing guitar. Sid Vicious did fucking suck at bass though...

definitely sucked at bass. pretty vacant was a cool song though, as well as the anarchy song.
