I recently saw the films Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist: Addendum, (both available to watch free on google video) the latter of which introduced Jacque Fresco's proposal of a resource based economy, in replacement of our current monetary based one
I'm wondering if perhaps the resource based economy would be the preferred end result of a revolution, thoughts on this?
For information on Mr Fresco's proposal go to the website:

We have an entire group here at Revleft that essentially advocates this, although as a group we are strictly atheists and mostly reject the more spiritual type stuff in Zeitgeist Addendum. However, the rest is largely in line with the anarchist/communist technocracy movement.
Our group is called the Human Progress Group and we have many prominent members on the boards. Its good to have another person interested in our school of thought!
There is also a forum linked in my signature created to link anarchist & communist technocrats with the other parts of the movement in general. I suggest you check it out if you're interested, maybe even register an account if you want to post/learn there without having to deal with interjections from other movements!

On NET's forums, we have a lot of discussions about RBE's right now.

TVP and the Zeitgeist movement are watered-down versions of what Technocracy, Inc. came up with more than 70 years ago.
While they may have a lot of pretty pictures and models, there is little in the way of actual substance. Tech, Inc. is still the preferred source for actual information on the subject of a post-scarcity economy. Tech, Inc. may not be as good at PR as the other movements, but at least they have a solid scientific foundation. Jacques Fresco was a member of Tech, Inc. before he left to start TVP. He left because he didn't accept energy accounting because he wasn't able to really understand it, and is considered to be a pseudo-intellectual by most Technocrats.

I think this is an equivalent to the kind of thing which has held traditional leftists a part. Most of revleft is actually a huge civil war between different tendencies.
There are problems with all movements, both caused by logistics and ideology, but that is no excuse to not cooperate.
