You hold hands with a member of the opposite sex and go around in the drums(very fun)you gotta follow the head dancers.
its like a simon sez with dancing you gotta do what the head dancers do.
Also you sing a round dance song to win the heart of a girl you like. once in awhile a girl will sing one to a guy.

I always wondered what a round-dance version of The Internationale would sound like.

Depends on the girl. My wife, who is Lakotah, would have been damn impressed (mostly that I could keep the time, but anyway... ;) ).
I know, sounds silly, but still...

It's spelled Lakota idk looks like you had an accidental typo. So are you from Detroit?

I've been in the habit of using the spelling that the Republic of Lakotah people use (e.g., www.republicoflakotah.com).
So are you from Detroit?
Not originally, but it's where we live now. I grew up north of here.
Communist Theory
3rd April 2009, 15:20
Hmm interesting I never knew it was spelled that way. My best friend is Lakota Sioux. Also you're my neighbor I'm from Wisconsin.
Martin Blank
3rd April 2009, 19:33
I think the different spelling is meant as a kind of self-determination of how the language is transliterated into the Latin alphabet.
Yes, we are neighbors. And if you're ever gonna be in the area, let me know. We'll have frybread and stew waiting for you.

Yeah. Usually the events are around the Cadillac area, or no farther south than the "Chippewa" rez outside St. Charles. That's at least a three hour drive from here.
Communist Theory

Yeah the one my drum is supposed to go to is in Manistique it looks like it right on the tip of Lake Michigan.
