So i'm in school right now and I have to work really hard to get on here because they block it. Now I thought that it would black it because of forums but thats not the case...they block this site because of hate and racism...??? i'm slightly confused because I don't think there is hate and racism on this site.

Try revleft.org, I don't think that one is blocked.

Don't get caught.

Revleft was never blocked at my old high school, although they should have blocked it, thinking from their perspective. I pretty much read the forums during Web Design, and didn't do ANY assignments.

I think you should bring this issue up with your school teachers. Blocking a forum promoting anti-racism, equality and anti-sexism is against their precious freedom of speech. They will have to either reveal their hypocricy or allow you to browse this site.

A number of web-blockers do this apparently. They trawl for keywords in websites (which means that if we quote a stormfronter going on about "killing niggers and fags" we'll be censored under hate. By the same token a lot of non-pornographic gay websites are banned for being pornographic because "gay" (or a derivative) is an erotic term.

In some cases revleft.org is your best bet.

I have never actually tried going on revleft at school. I should try one day just to see if it's blocked. I'm a little scared to because it'll definitely raise alot of questions from people around me, including teachers.

Yeah at my school you can submit blocked sites for review, which i did several times with RevLeft and it worked but now it won't. :(

I did that a few times when I was at college. I think the filtering system thinks its been unblocked sometimes when you submit a review request.

Reminds me of a conversation I had in school just the other day. I was talking about communism and about equality, then one girl said "But communism is racist and thats not equal at all."

I could have cried.:crying:

i know how you feel! So many people in this World are racist and make me just want to scream. If they didn't just follow everyone and what they do then maybe they wouldn't have so many problems. It's like the blind leading the blind

In my school they check to see what you go on, on a regular basis and they try and keep you from doing anything at all. i wouldn't worry about what people think about me that are around me if they don't like it then they can go shutup

I had the same problem at a local library. I thought about going up to the librarian and saying 'Look: when you fucking tories were having your nails pared by Jamaicans, Marxists were talking about dismantling imperialism. ****.'

Wow! I don't think my school checks what students are doing. If they don't like a site they simply block it. Facebook and several game sites have already been blocked. Also, maybe I should stop caring what people around me think. Alot of people probably already know i'm Commie anyway. I could visit this site during my Civics class just to be on the safe side though...

Yea, ignorance really is quite dangerous. If you could imagine a massive 50' long spider who could jump from London to New York and had access to nuclear weapons, that's the kind of dangerzone we're talking about. I had to use hyperbole because maybe the CIA spies keeping an eye on this site might declare war on ignorance.

I remember in HS (or maybe gr 7.. don't remember) I changed all the screensavers on the library computers to "Viva la revolucion!" because I thought it 1) was funny and 2) sounded cool (I had no idea about communism then).

I got pulled aside and scolded by a teacher and had to write a letter of apology

Schools and colleges usually block message boards. I don't think race and racism has anything to do with it.

Yup, at my school, Wikipedia is blocked because it is apparently a message board.
