they are really cool only the lead singer is gay. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a homophobe, I have absolutely nothing against gay people. I just feel a little strange knowing that the singer of such a strange rivet band is gay. Yeah they kick ass. I have heard better in my opinion but they are pretty good indeed.

Well that's I call em to wind up my mate who's obsessed with em anyway. Apparently they're cool live, but that's only cos of gimmicks like fireworks. If you strip away the German, flirtations with Nazism and pyrotechnics, you actually have a very dull band.

As for Rammstein; mmmmmmmm, i stopped listening to them a few years ago. They are good though if you ever need to do some serious anti-virus work - i always listen to Rammstein when cleaning my computer. :)

I quite like 'em but,unlike Malte,precisely because of their german feel.Till's voice and the german language seem to suit metal quite well IMO.Not having a good understanding of german helps,because I am not put off by seemingly average lyrics.I prefer Die Toten Hosen though.(many thanks to Malte and Fabi.:))

i lvoe rammstien, i first heard sonne on the radio 1 rock show and loved it. i do german at school, and was really suprised the toher day when i could understand a few more of the lyrics than beofre. whatever anyone says they still rule.

i used to listen to them cause they were the only band that would piss my parents off.... (besides maybe NIN's video to 'happiness in slavery' or 'closer' ;))

Die Toten Hosen are quiet cool, I loved them when I was a teen, and I still like them. They are quiet commercial, probaply one of best selling bands at all here and they are from Düsseldorf, the city were I'm from too. If you are lucky you can meet one of them in a pub or cafe here.

A funny thing about them is that they are sponsoring my favorite football team Fortuna Düsseldorf. The first football team at all which is sponsored by a punk rock band! :) They saved the ass of Fortuna when they were nearly bancrupt. I'll be forever gratefull to the Hosen for that. Now Fortuna is playing in the proably coolest dress at all in football:

I hope I'll see Fortuna ever playing again in Hamburg, especially in St. Pauli. Fortuna is playing 4th league now, after they played in the Bundesliga just 5 years ago, it was an incrediable downfall...it's so sad :(

Malte,I've just realised that my ex-manager at work had one of those Fortuna shirts but I'd never taken much notice of it(didn't even know which team it was,too busy trying to save his shots).Spooky.It makes sense though as he was a communist himself.

Die Toten Hosen are not communists although they have the red star as their sign. I think the lead singer once admitted that he votes the Greens. But they are a quiet political band and have many leftist lyrics.
