Prof. Harvey explains that the historic roots of the current fiscal crisis are found in the crises of the 70s and the Ponzi-like bursting of the twin bubbles of the stock market and real estate (investment assets for the wealthy). He doesn't think that the stimulus package will work and sees a tremendous consolidation of capitalist power coming. OTOH he sees hope in the current thirst for global human solidarity.
